About

I have been on your side of this.

A divorce, and then losing a parent. Both times the house became a problem to solve at exactly the moment I had the least left to solve it with. That is why I work the way I do.

Holly Marie Thomson, REALTOR® with Keller Williams Capital Partners in Central Ohio

I am Holly Marie Thomson, a Realtor® with Keller Williams Capital Partners, working across Central Ohio from our office in Worthington. Most of my work is with families selling a home during a divorce, or after somebody has died and the house has become part of an estate.

I did not choose that specialism on a whiteboard. I went through both, and I remember how it felt to be handed a market analysis by somebody who clearly wanted the listing and did not particularly want the conversation. What I needed was someone to explain, calmly and once, what my choices actually were.

So that is what I do. I value the house properly, I write down what each option would mean in money and in time, and then I stop. If you want to sell, I will run the sale carefully and quietly. If you do not, that is a perfectly good outcome and it costs you nothing.

Outside of work I am in Plain City with my family, and I spend more time in these towns than most people who sell houses in them do.

How I work

Four things I hold to.

  • I answer the question you asked

Not the one that leads most neatly to a listing agreement. If the honest answer is that you should wait, that is the answer you get.

  • Everything in writing

Valuations, options, likely costs and net proceeds. So you can read it twice, show it to your attorney, and think about it without me in the room.

  • No chasing

You will not be called every Tuesday. If you want to leave it for two years, leave it for two years. People do, and they call back when they are ready.

  • Both sides, same information

In a divorce I work with both parties and both attorneys, and I do not take a side. In an estate, every sibling gets the same document.
